IMMS holding turtle release on Thursday

PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. (WXXV)- The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies is hosting a turtle release Thursday.

The release takes place in Pass Christian across from the Walmart near the intersection of Hayden Avenue and Highway 90.

One rehabilitated sea turtle is being released. The turtle has been with IMMS since May and was caught in a cast net.

The turtle had severe injuries to its shell. IMMS worked hard to make sure it made a full recovery.

The turtle release will be happening at 9:30 a.m. It will be livestreamed for anyone who can’t make it.
