Stone Tomcats play first-ever home game at Tomcat Field

STONE COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- After years of planning and anticipation, Stone Tomcat Nation is finally coming home.

The Stone County School District hosted its first-ever home football game at Tomcat Field Friday, making history on homecoming night.

While some permanent facilities, including restrooms, concessions, and the ticket booth, are still being completed, ADA-accessible restrooms and concessions were available for fans.

The field was ready to safely welcome the community and give students their first chance to play on their new home field.

With homecoming, fans also saw the band, cheerleaders, and Stone High’s homecoming court take the field.

It was a night of historic firsts, the first home game, and also homecoming at Tomcat Field.

The Tomcats defeated George County 34-21 Friday night.
