Firefighters battle mechanic shop fire in Moss Point over the weekend
MOSS POINT, Miss. (WXXV)- Firefighters in Moss Point battled a large structure fire early Saturday morning.
The Moss Point Fire Department says crews were called to a mechanic’s shop on Elder Street around 6:30 a.m.
When firefighters arrived, the building was fully involved with heavy smoke and flames.
The shop contained a large amount of flammable material, creating a heavy fire load.
Crews from Moss Point, along with the Jackson County Office of Emergency Services and additional firefighters reporting for duty, battled the fire for several hours.
Several vehicles were saved and firefighters were able to contain the flames to the building where the fire started.
No injuries were reported as a result.
