Beautiful and dry weekend on tap

Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at the forecast for south Mississippi

Tonight will be mostly clear and pleasantly cool, with temperatures dropping into the upper 60s.

Saturday will bring plenty of sunshine with a high near 88 degrees, but looking mostly cloudy by the evening with temperatures staying mild in the mid to upper 60s inland and around 70 at the coast.

Sunday looks like it will be more sunny which will lead to a slightly warmer afternoon, with temperatures climbing to around 91 degrees. We won’t see too many changes through Monday and Tuesday, but we’ll notice a bit more humidity as southerly winds will pick up both afternoons. Highs top out near 90 on Monday and 89 degrees on Tuesday.

The pattern starts to change Wednesday as moisture increases across the area. There will be a slight chance of showers early Wednesday, with rain and thunderstorm chances increasing during the afternoon.

A few showers will remain possible Wednesday night, and likely increasing through Thursday and Friday.
