Hitachi Energy expanding operations in Copiah County

A major economic development project will bring more than 650 new jobs to Mississippi.

Hitachi Energy is investing $528 million to expand its transformer manufacturing operations in Copiah County, the company’s largest investment worldwide to date.

Governor Tate Reeves says it is a massive win for the state and a sign of continued momentum.

The project includes a new facility at the Copiah County Industrial Park. Hitachi Energy already employs 475 people in the county.

Construction is expected to begin later this year, with production at the new facility set to start in 2029.
