New lighting upgrades coming to Downtown Biloxi

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- New lighting is coming to Downtown Biloxi as part of a phased project to improve nighttime visibility and safety.

Mississippi Power is replacing existing lights along Howard Avenue with brighter, energy efficient LED fixtures.

The first phase runs from Reynoir Street to Lameuse Street and includes eight new, taller light poles.

Future phases will extend the upgrades along Howard Avenue from Main Street to Porter Avenue and South on Rue Magnolia to Beach Boulevard.
