New chronic wasting disease management zone announced in Harrison County

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks has announced its chronic wasting disease management zones for the 2026-27 season, including part of Harrison County.

The Harrison Management Zone includes all of Harrison County west of Highway 49, along with portions of Hancock County.

Within the zone, supplemental feeding of deer, including feeders, salt licks, and mineral licks, is banned.

Hunters also cannot transport whole deer carcasses outside of a CWD management zone.
