New restaurant coming to Coleman Avenue in Waveland

WAVELAND, Miss. (WXXV)- A new restaurant and bar is coming to Coleman Avenue in Waveland, marking the area’s first new commercial construction in more than two decades.

The Sand Bar is expected to open by October. The two-story, beach-side restaurant is being developed by Blind Tiger owner Thomas Genin.

The ground floor will feature an open-air bar and snack kitchen, the second floor will include a full oyster bar, patio seating, and gulf views.

Developers say the family friendly concept will also feature live music, fresh gulf seafood, and more than 30 golf cart parking spots.

In a statement, Waveland Mayor Jay Trapani called the project a major milestone and a sign of continued investment along Coleman Avenue.
