Acadian Ambulance celebrates 55 years of service

Acadian Ambulance marked 55 years of service and care Tuesday.

The company was founded in 1971 with just two ambulances and eight medics. Today, Acadian has grown into the nation’s largest employee-owned ambulance service with divisions providing emergency and non-emergency transportation and air medical services.

Acadian has served more than 15 million patients over the past 55 years, providing transportation services across more than 80 parishes and counties in a four-state region.

They are also expanding its Air Med fleet, with two new helicopters expected to be integrated by the end of the year.

Acadian says its focus remains on building on its legacy while continuing to provide care to the communities it serves.
