Church campus fire forces early school dismissal in George County
GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- A fire at a church campus in the Rocky Creek community in George County led to an early dismissal of a nearby school.
The fire happened at the Rocky Creek Baptist Church activities building.
The Howell Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call with other agencies in the county.
As a result of the firefighting efforts, Rocky Creek Elementary, located next to the church, dismissed students around 10:15 this morning out of an abundance of caution.
No injuries to the public or fighters were reported as a result of the blaze
