Sun-N-Fun Horse Show
The horses have returned to the Harrison County fairgrounds. This time for the sun and fun quarter horse show. For the 10th year, riders will take the arena for this breed specific competition. Competitors as young as 9 all the way up to the select class featuring riders 50 and older, will mount their American quarter horse to try and take home numerous awards. Show organizers tell News 25 they had 1400 entries last year and although it’s early, they believe they surpassed that mar this year. For one rider, the show is a chance to complete in a great competition in her backyard. Sabrina Turner, competitor told News 25, “I came to the show this weekend to show the all-around which is basically a show of every class I show on the national level too so it’s nice to have this here. It’s only 5 minutes down the road from my house. It’s always a great environment and the weather is always great here.”
Admission to the sun and fun horse show is free. It runs through Sunday.
