Nice Saturday, but a little unsettled by Sunday

Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at the forecast for south Mississippi

Saturday starts off mostly sunny and comfortable, with temperatures in the low to mid 70s, but by the afternoon it’s going to feel a little hot, with highs near 92. A few showers and thunderstorms could pop up during the afternoon, with coverage increasing Saturday night into Sunday, with scattered to numerous showers and storms possible.

Sunday looks to be the wettest day of the weekend, with showers and thunderstorms possible throughout the day. Highs will still reach around 90, but periods of rain could keep temperatures from climbing higher.

Showers and thunderstorms remain possible Monday before gradually becoming more scattered. After that, the typical summer pattern returns, with mostly sunny skies, highs in the lower 90s and daily chances for isolated afternoon or evening thunderstorms continuing through Friday.
