Fire departments across the coast respond to numerous fires caused by lightning
Harrison County, Miss. (WXXV)- Multiple fire departments across the coast have responded to homes that were struck by lighting Thursday morning. A storm system in the area caused a number of emergencies due to extremely active lightning.
Harrison County Fire Rescue along with CRTC Fire crews and the Gulfport Fire Department responded to a two-story home struck by lighting. The residents were able to escape uninjured.
The fire was reported around 2:30 in the morning in the Windance Subdivision.
This is one of multiple structures across the coast struck by lightning and burned.
