Our weather is looking a little unsettled over the next few days

Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at the forecast for south Mississippi

An unsettled weather pattern is setting up across the Gulf Coast, with daily chances for showers and thunderstorms continuing through next week, but not everybody will see rain on some of those days.

The best rain chances arrive Thursday when some areas could pick up a quarter to half an inch of rain, with locally higher amounts in stronger storms. Friday will remain unsettled with a 60% storm chance. High temperatures both days will remain in the upper 80s or low 90s.

Rain chances ease somewhat over the weekend, but scattered showers and thunderstorms will remain possible across south Mississippi. The same pattern continues into next week, with storm chances lingering through at least Wednesday.

Temperatures will remain fairly typical for late August, with afternoon highs generally in the lower 90s and overnight lows in the mid 70s.
