Friends of Nolan Wells plan to sue Rev. Al Sharpton
Three friends of Nolan Wells are indicating they intend to sue Rev. Al Sharpton for defamation.
Attorneys for the friends say Sharpton received what’s known as a pre-suit demand letter. That kind of letter aims to resolve disagreements before a lawsuit is filed.
The letter alleges Sharpton made two defamatory statements about the three friends. It also demands an apology.
Sharpton has spoken publicly about Wells’ death.
In response, Sharpton says he welcomes the lawsuit and wants the case to go to court.
