Ocean Springs Fire practices rescuing one of their own

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV)- The Ocean Springs Fire Department focused on a special training this week, rescuing one of their own.

Crews worked through scenarios involving a downed firefighter.

Those conditions include low visibility, crews working on rapid location and removal, and all the challenges that come with moving someone in full gear.

Once the firefighter was moved, crews transitioned to a rapid medical assessment to focus on any emergencies that can occur.

The fire department shared these scenarios reinforce an important reality that all crews must be prepared to care for one of their own.
