Fire crews battled woods fire near Bethel Road Wednesday

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- Harrison County Fire Protection is sharing details on a woods fire reported Wednesday.

The fire happening on Bethel Road around 3 Wednesday afternoon.

Harrison County, the United States Forest Service, and the State Forestry Commission responded to the scene as well as the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department.

Crews currently believe the fire may have been caused by a lightning strike. The fire was bought under control.

Bethel Road was shut down for a period of time.

No structures were involved and no injuries were reported.
