FEMA Disaster Service Center opens in South Mississippi

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- Harrison County residents and businesses impacted by the remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur can now apply for federal disaster assistance.
FEMA assistance is available to eligible homeowners and residents with public assistance also available to eligible government entities.
FEMA is also opening two disaster recovery centers Wednesday, August 19 at the Saucier Lizana Shelter and the Donal Synder Community Center in Biloxi.
Locations will also open at the Kiln Community Center in Hancock County, the Pearl River County Annex in Poplarville, and the Stone County Fairgrounds in Wiggins.
Residents can apply online at disasterassistance.gov. The deadline to apply is October 2.
