Man wanted following alleged vehicle theft in George County

GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- A 34-year-old Gulfport man is wanted for allegedly stealing a vehicle in George County Friday.

According to the George County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a Keith’s Superstore on Highway 63 around 12:30 Friday afternoon in reference to a stolen vehicle.

Deputies were able to locate the vehicle which was traveling south on Highway 63 near the George County and Jackson County line.

As deputies tried to stop the vehicle, the driver fled on foot, exiting the vehicle while it was still moving.

GCSO has identified the driver as Robert Callahan. The sheriff’s office searched the area for Callahan, but deputies were unable to find him.

Anyone who has information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the George County Sheriff’s Office.

If you see Callahan, do not approach or attempt to apprehend him.
