State Supreme Court upholds lawsuit dismissal involving healthcare tech company in Harrison County
The Mississippi Supreme Court has upheld the dismissal of a lawsuit involving a healthcare technology company in Harrison County.
Demtrius Johnson sued Health Wallet and several of its members in 2024, claiming his ownership interest in the company had been transferred through misrepresentation and fraud.
A Harrison County Circuit Judge initially dismissed the case, finding Johnson filed his lawsuit more than six months after the three-year statute of limitations expired.
Thursday, the state Supreme Court affirmed that ruling, finding Johnson waived his challenge to the summary judgement by failing to properly raise it in his initial appeal. The justices also found that, even on the merits, his claims were filed too late.
