Gulfport Police Department celebrates National Night Out with community

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- The Gulfport Police Department hosted a National Night Out event Tuesday evening at the Barksdale Pavilion in Jones Park.

The free, family-friendly event featured live music, food, games, and a chance for residents to meet local officers.

National Night Out helps build stronger relationships between law enforcement and the community while promoting public safety.

Officials say this year’s event drew a larger crowd than last year, showing growing community involvement.
