Mississippi State Medical Examiner’s Office completes Nolan Wells’ autopsy

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV)- The Mississippi State Medical Examiner’s Office has completed the autopsy of Nolan Wells, officials told NBC News.
Officials told NBC News that the report has been sent to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department. However, the results have not yet been released publicly.
Last week, attorney Ben Crump revealed the preliminary findings of a second autopsy conducted in Washington, D.C.
The forensic pathologist who performed the second autopsy stated that both the cause and manner of death remain undetermined pending the investigation. The date of Wells’ death also remains unknown.
Once the investigation into Wells’ death is complete, the findings will be presented to a grand jury to determine whether charges should be filed. This is standard procedure in Jackson County for cases involving deaths with initially unknown causes.
