Moss Point man sentenced after admitting to secretly filming children in bathroom

A Moss Point man is sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to being a peeping tom.

Twenty-four-year-old Thomas Smith specifically was found guilty on the charges of sexual battery, and four counts of photographing a person in violation of expectation of privacy.

The case stems from an investigation that began in November 2024, after Jackson County sheriff’s deputies received a report of Smith placing a camera on the bathroom window of a home and recording children in the bathroom.

Smith lived in a camper on the same property, and admitted to the crimes during questioning.

As part of his sentencing, Smith will not be eligible for parole and must register as a sex offender upon his release.
