Results released for independent autopsy on Nolan Wells
The results of a preliminary autopsy report commissioned by the legal team of Nolan Wells’ family have been released.
According to those preliminary findings, the cause and manner of Nolan’s death was ‘undetermined’ pending investigation.
According to Attorney Ben Crump, the doctor who performed the autopsy said in the report that he could not rule out foul play.
Crump says the report also found red discoloration on the back of Nolan’s head, but the report appeared to have gaps due to what Crump said were incomplete procedures.
The autopsy was performed by Dr. Roger Mitchell and did not include a toxicology report. It was performed on July 10, six days after Nolan went missing and four days after his body was found on Horn Island.
The Jackson County Coroner also performed an autopsy. Those results have not been released because the coroner’s office is waiting on a toxicology report.
