D’Iberville sixth grader wins National Beta Math Title

D’IBERVILLE, Miss. (WXXV)- A sixth grader from D’Iberville Middle School is bringing home a national title.

Logan Le has earned a national championship after taking first place in math at the National Beta Club Convention in Nashville.

While most students his age are learning pre-algebra, Logan is already tackling college level calculus.

We spoke with Logan and his mother, who says his love for solving problems started at an early age. “I’ve never been a big math person but he just loves it. He started when he was at a young age and learned numbers and started loving them and just started looking up math equations online.”

“Math is complex. Gives me a challenge.”

Logan’s family and his Beta Club sponsors were there to cheer him on as he took the stage to accept his first-place trophy in the national math competition.

His Beta Club leaders say they knew early on that his talent and dedication would take him far and that being named champion came as no surprise.

This national title is just the latest milestone in what his teachers believe is a bright future ahead.
