Gautier man charged in shooting at St. Martin business

ST. MARTIN, Miss. (WXXV) — A Gautier man has been arrested after investigators say he fired a handgun inside a St. Martin business following an altercation with employees.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Mustafa Abdulla Alyazidi was arrested Wednesday and charged with one count of Drive-By Shooting.
Sheriff John Ledbetter said deputies responded at approximately 5:51 p.m. to Up N Smoke, located on Washington Avenue in the St. Martin community, after receiving reports of a shooting.
When deputies arrived, they determined Alyazidi had allegedly fired a gun inside the business following an ongoing fight with employees.
Deputies took Alyazidi into custody at the scene without incident.
He is now being held at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center pending an initial appearance before Jackson County Court Judge Mark Watts.
