State Rep. Mike Ezell honored for bipartisan leadership in ocean observation

Representative Mike Ezell was honored by the IOOS Association recently.

Ezell was awarded the Congressional Award for Bipartisan leadership in Ocean Observing.

The honor comes as part of Ezell’s Integrated Coastal and Ocean Observation System Reauthorization Act.

Rep. Ezell says for the Gulf Coast, accurate and real-time ocean data is essential for commercial fishermen, emergency managers, and coastal communities.

This act provides the information needed to improve public safety, strengthen maritime commerce, and prepare for coastal hazards.
