Gautier to celebrate 40th anniversary and America 250 with birthday bash

GAUTIER, Miss. (WXXV) — It’s a double celebration in Gautier as the city will soon celebrate its 40th birthday and America’s 250th.

On Thursday, July 2, the front lawn of Gautier City Hall will be filled with community members for the city’s big birthday bash. Organizers have planned plenty of fun, with activities and entertainment for all ages.

“We’re gonna have good activities, fun — family fun. Those that wanna come out, enjoy, have some family fun, come out here to the city hall of Gautier. You will have the opportunity to enjoy yourself,” said Ward 2 City Councilman, Richard Jackson.

With free food and drinks, a live DJ, and lots of activities, there’s plenty of fun in store. Plus, a fundraiser for the mayor’s youth council will also take place, culminating with Mayor Casey Vaughan taking a pie to the face.

City leaders say they’re excited to celebrate Gautier’s 40th anniversary with the community.

“Forty years is great for us. You know, this is a young city, but at the same time, it is a great city, and we want people to come out and enjoy our city,” said Jackson.

The event highlights Gautier’s strong community spirit, welcoming atmosphere, and shows why it’s known as “Nature’s Playground.” It will take place from 5-7 p.m. and WXXV will have more coverage of this exciting event on Thursday afternoon.
