Ocean Springs fire trains on high-rise operations

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV)- The Ocean Springs Fire Department is sharing their training operations.

Last week focused on their new standpipe kit and high-rise operation.

Crews worked on connecting their high-rise packs to the system inside the drill tower, practicing advancing hose lines through interior stairwells.

The department says that standpipe systems are commonly associated with high-rise buildings, but these can be found in large commercial buildings as well.

Several buildings throughout the city have the systems, making it essential crews remain proficient.
