Harrison Central’s Zahkarri McGlothin is a Long Jump National Champion!
Harrison Central’s Zahkarri McGlothin continues to make a name for himself on the track and field stage! This past weekend, McGlothin was on the national podium not just once, but twice.
The recent Red Rebel graduate won the Nike High School Outdoor National Champion in Long Jump with his jump of 25 feet and 3.5 inches.
Just two days prior to his national high school title, McGlothin competed against college athletes in the U20 division and he placed third with a jump of 24 feet and 6.25 inches. This milestone not only earned him All-American status, but he is now the first alternate to represent the United States in the U20 World Championships.
In this interview, McGlothin sits down with Ansley Brent to relive the emotions of a national championship, describes his journey to this point and tells why he chose to continue his career collegiately at Southern Miss. The full interview can be seen in the video above. Congratulations to Zahkarri on his National Championship win!
