Harrison County solid waste agreement

Today the Harrison County Utility Authority was set to possibly take a vote on whether the City of Gulfport can withdraw from the solid waste contract. That vote was tabled for Thursday.
In June, the Harrison County Utility Authority Board voted for Team Waste in a six year contract to provide garbage and recycling services to residents. One major change for the 43,000 units in Harrison County, Team Waste will only be picking up garbage and recycling once a week.
The City of Gulfport announced their withdrawal from the agreement and is looking to stay with Waste Pro. This caused the prices to increase in the contract, making it $9.75 per house for garbage and recycling pick up.
