Poplarville Four-Star Defensive Lineman Sam LeJeune commits to Florida State

It was a huge night in Poplarville as rising senior and four-star Defensive Lineman Sam LeJeune has officially announced his commitment. After narrowing it down to Florida State, California and Washington, LeJeune as chosen to be a Florida State Seminole! A quarterbacks worst nightmare is headed to Tallahassee, and FSU should be thrilled about this get.

During his Junior season, the top-ten ranked defensive tackle had seven sacks, 22 tackles for a loss, five blocked field goals and five pass breakups.
After the big announcement, the Under Armor All-American told WXXV why he chose Florida State.

“What led me to Florida State? I prayed about it and it was on my heart. It was really tough between Cal and Florida State. Honestly I thought I was going to go to Cal, but I prayed about it and something just told me Florida State, so I had to stick with it,” said the FSU commit Sam LeJeune. “I’m grateful for the position I’ve put myself into and all these schools that poured into me regardless of where I’m at. They believed in me and I believe it them. It’s a great opportunity at every school, but Florida State just felt right for me.”

Out of his 26 Division I offers, the Seminoles were LeJeune’s first back in 2024. After believing in him from the jump, he goes into detail about what kind of player Florida State is getting out of him.

“They’re getting a player that’s going to be relentless in the weight room, eating relentlessly, recovering and relentless on the field,” LeJeune said. “I still have a lot to work on, but I’m going to work on it, do what I can to play my first year, plan to play my first year, and go do great things. I’m just going to be a good player.”
