Single Car Accident on I-10 in Gulfport

A single car accident near the Three Rivers Road overpass had eastbound traffic down to two lanes on Interstate 10.
At approximately 6:13 p.m., Gulfport PD and Gulfport Fire Department arrived on the scene, where a partially overturned Toyota Camry had collided with the guard rail. Two adults and two children were in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
Sergeant Damon McDaniel with Gulfport PD says the family is fortunate that the accident was not worse. “The vehicle partially overturned near the Three Rivers Road overpass. It struck the guard rail, spun around and partially overturned onto its side and being that it hit the guard rail, that’s what actually saved it from going down the embankment towards Three Rivers Road.”
The entire family was transported to an area hospital for treatment. McDaniel says no major injuries were reported.
