Mississippi Tax Free Weekend

The last day of Mississippi’s tax free weekend, shoppers had the chance to get out a find some serious deals on Friday and Saturday as they took advantage of our tax free weekend. The premium outlets in Gulfport were a hot spot for shoppers during the weekend. Many gearing up to go back to school tried to score a few end of summer scores. Today, News 25 spoke with the director of marketing at premium outlets about the success of this year’s tax free weekend at the mall. Rhonda Roberts tells News 25, “We had a very strong tax free holiday Friday and Saturday, yesterday was really busy on Saturday. It’s just a win, win for people doing back to school shopping. They get the 7 percent off plus the back to school sales. We were expecting a large crowd and they came out.” Roberts says that the tax free weekend is the mall’s second biggest annual event behind Black Friday.
