Search Continues For Two Buried

Rescue crews are still trying to find two men who were buried in a pit collapse in Copiah County.
Officials say Emmitt Shorter and James “Dee” Hemphill were trapped after the collapse of a gravel pit at green brothers gravel pit Friday.
They believe the men are buried ten to fifteen feet deep.
Crews and employees are trying to remove tons of mud. Sand and gravel that fell on two men and their heavy equipment and now crews are beginning to pump water out of the pit.
Emergency officials say they don’t know how long the recovery effort could take and they’re unsure if the men have survived this length of time.
