Biloxi infrastructure project update

Oscar Renda Contracting plans a new round of paving as the massive infrastructure project in Biloxi continues.
Sidewalks are currently being installed on the eastern end of Division Street. Paving will soon be going down on Nichols Drive, Iroquois, and Thelma Streets. Paving, sidewalks, and curbing are expected to be complete before the first day of the school year at Nichols Elementary School. Contractors are also expected to pave Graham Avenue where muddy conditions have prevented paving.
Mayor Andrew ‘FoFo’ Gilich tells News 25 when the city opens bids on the south contract, officials will handle it differently. “We have a lot more control and a lot more sequence of how we’ll attack this project and not tear everything up at one time. We’ll finish a segment of your contract, a part of. Everything will be scheduled and broken up such that the minimal disruption will take place south of the railroad tracks.”
The south contract will open for bid in August and will be separated into two different contracts. Mayor Gilich hopes to move forward with the south project in four to five months.
