Children’s Health Care Fair

With the start of school right around the corner, the need for health care and school supplies is steadily increasing.
The Rotary Club of Edgewater has been helping the Coast community fulfill these needs for the past 32 years. The Children’s Health Care Fair allows kids to come by and receive free health care as well as a bag full of free school supplies. Rotary Club of Edgewater President Stephen Theobald said, “We processed 348 children through the health fair this year. That is 348 health screenings and 348 school supplies and every one of them had to see at least eight of these vendors and they saw a lot more than that because they were awesome so I really love the looks and smiles on these kids’ faces. You know kids like to get their school supplies. I am not so sure they care about health screenings that much but their parents do.”
Rotary club members tell News 25 that this event is the longest running event community service project that they are aware of.
