Blessing of the Fleet Kicks Off

Seafood lovers unite as a Coast tradition gets underway. The Fais Do-Do festival kicks off tomorrow at 10 a.m.
Set up began today at Point Cadet Plaza in Biloxi. Live entertainment will take over the stage, now set underneath the pavilion, all day from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. The headlining performers, The Chee Weez, rocks out at 7 p.m.
There will also be a new Shrimp Queen crowned at 5:30. Kids can enjoy a rock climbing wall out on the lawn, while others can stop by dozens of local vendor booths.
Many Biloxi residents are looking forward to this historic festival. Resident Toni Davis said, “I’m looking forward to it. It’s a great place to bring your kids, to have fun. The weather is nice, just get out here and let the kids enjoy themselves.”
The show will go on tomorrow, rain or shine. Tickets are $5 at the gate until 7 p.m. when tickets go up to $7. Children 12 and under are free and military discounts are available.
The Blessing of the Fleet ceremony is at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
