City of Ocean Springs declares State of Emergency

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV)- The City of Ocean Springs is declaring a state of local emergency.

The proclamation comes due to the projected tropical disturbance in the Gulf.

Expected throughout the emergency is excessive rain, high tides, and winds causing flooding in areas of the city.

Mayor Bobby Cox says the declaration comes to provide for the health and safety of citizens and their property.

The emergency will be reviewed at the next regular city meeting.
