Riding for veterans
Each year, millions of bikers hit the road and make their way on cross country road trips. One biker community on the Gulf Coast has a good reason for their travels.
You could hear the engines from a mile away as bikers from around the nation joined together in Biloxi to honor the life of a brother, a friend, and a member of the biker community. Bikers for Trump Vice President Roger Clark said, “Pretty much all veterans and veterans bikers and Christian motorcycle clubs have come together to honor this veteran.”
Martin Debie was a specialist fourth class in the United States Army with his only family being this large community of Freedom Riders. “This is our way to honor a brother and a brotherhood is a brotherhood.”
The bikers at today’s service in Biloxi came from all over the nation for one reason: to support the veterans. Ray Edwards with Christian Motorcycle Association said, “It’s important to support our veterans. My father died in Korea. I didn’t get to serve, but I know the price you pay for someone that does serve.”
This is no small group. Clubs like Bikers for Trump, who also try to make a difference in the political spectrum, are not just based on the Gulf Coast. Bikers for Trump President R.C. Pittman said, “Right now we have about 28 chapters nationwide with a total of 6,000 riders, but we have a total of about 300,000 supporters. Hopefully, we can take back this country one state, one town, one community at a time.”
Pittman says the group will move on to honor the next fallen veteran whenever and wherever that may be.
