The accolades continue to roll in for Pearl River Community College softball, this time recognizing the leaders behind the Wildcats’ historic championship season.

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and ATEC have named Pearl River Community College’s coaching staff the 2026 NFCA/ATEC National Coaching Staff of the Year, honoring a remarkable campaign that culminated in the program’s first NJCAA Division II Softball World Series championship. Head Coach Christie Meeks, along with assistant coaches Tyler Dobson, Katelyn Gruich, and Conner Walker, guided the Wildcats to an outstanding 48-7 overall record and one of the most successful seasons in program history.

Pearl River’s offense was among the nation’s best, producing 380 runs while batting .365 as a team. The Wildcats also showcased impressive power at the plate, finishing the season with a .592 slugging percentage. In the circle, Pearl River’s pitching staff was equally dominant. Wildcat pitchers combined for a 2.16 earned run average, recorded 15 shutouts, and struck out 431 batters throughout the championship season.

The national honor recognizes not only the team’s on-field success but also the dedication, leadership, and commitment demonstrated by the coaching staff throughout the year.
