Reminders from Biloxi Police Department ahead of Scrapin’ the Coast 2026

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- We are just a few weeks out from this year’s Scrapin’ the Coast and the Biloxi Police Department is already preparing for the influx of visitors and sending out some reminders in advance.

It is important to know that pop-up events in Biloxi are not authorized in Biloxi during that weekend.

This will be the second year since the squatted vehicle law was passed, making it illegal for a vehicle’s front fenders to be raised four or more inches higher than the rear fenders.

The Biloxi Police Department says this will be heavily enforced during the weekend’s events. Lt. Candace Young said, “Last year, we reiterated that, you know, that any vehicles we saw that were squatted were pulled over. Depending on the officer, depending on the situation, they may have received a warning or a citation. A lot of officers, if people had set ups where it allowed them to correct their vehicle pretty easily, they would allow them to pull over and do that. So, it’s going to be much like it was last year. That law in particular is going to be heavily enforced because we usually do see an uptick of that type of vehicle here for this event.”

Scrapin’ the Coast will take place June 26 through the 28 in Biloxi at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
