Three Coaches on the Mississippi Gulf Coast named 2026 MAC Coaches of the Year!

The Mississippi Gulf Coast is home to some of the best high school coaches in the state! The Mississippi Association of Coaches have named three of our local coaches 2026 Coaches of the Year.
Our first congratulations go to Boys Basketball Coach of the Year, Lorenzo Wright! Coach Wright led the Pascagoula Boys Basketball team to their first-ever State Championship title, the only basketball title in Jackson County, with an overall record of 28 wins and 6 losses.
Another big congratulations to the Cheer Coach of the Year, Faith Rutledge! This past season her Hancock High School Cheer Squad brought home the 2025 Varsity Co-Ed State Championship! Three of her athletes also signed to cheer at the next level!
Staying in Kiln, congratulations to the Boys Golf Coach of the Year, Trevin Burge! Burge most recently led his Hancock Hawk Golf team to year another Class 6A State Championship title. They won that title by five strokes, too!
Congratulation to these three deserving coaches. Thank you for pouring into athletes on the Mississippi Gulf Coast!
