Wiggins Fire Department testing fire hydrants

WIGGINS, Miss. (WXXV)- The Wiggins Fire Department is testing their hydrants this week.

The tests started Wednesday and are expected to last over the next several months.

Firefighters will be testing hydrants on most weekdays between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. These tests are to ensure they are operating properly and ready for use during an emergency.

Residents in the city also need to keep a few things in mind.

Drivers may find water flowing into roadways during the tests. They are asked to use caution.

These tests might also cause water discoloration in homes and businesses. All you need to do is run cold water for several minutes until it clears.

Drivers are also warned not to park in front of fire hydrants.
