PRCC Baseball Team Receives Hero’s Welcome After Capturing Second NJCAA Division II World Series Title in Five Years

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — It’s becoming a tradition in Poplarville.

Following a lengthy trip home from Enid, Oklahoma, the Pearl River Community College baseball team returned to a championship celebration after claiming the 2026 NJCAA Division II World Series title. The national championship marks the Wildcats’ second World Series crown in the last five years, further cementing the program’s status as one of the nation’s elite.

Family members, friends, faculty and fans gathered outside “The Dub” to welcome the team back to campus. Supporters lined the walkway with cheers, hugs and bursts of confetti as players and coaches made their way through the crowd, creating a memorable homecoming for the newly crowned champions.

The celebration continued as players proudly hoisted the championship trophy and thanked the community for its unwavering support throughout the season.
