Juneteenth Celebration Weekend set to return to the City of Biloxi
BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- The City of Biloxi has announced the return of the annual Juneteenth Celebration.
The Juneteenth Celebration is set to take place on Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20 at John Henry Beck Park and the Biloxi Town Green.
All ages are invited to attend the celebration which will feature different family-friendly activities throughout the weekend.
One part of the celebration is an essay contest for youth ages 11 to 18. Submissions for the essay contest are due by Friday, June 12.
On Friday, June 19 there will be a three-on-three basketball tournament beginning at 5:30 at John Henry Beck Park. The tournament is open to teams with three to five players. Each team must pay an entry fee of $25.
At the Biloxi Town Green on Saturday, there will be live entertainment, food, and vendors, a children’s area, and more. Admission to this event is free.
The Juneteenth Celebration Weekend is hosted by the City of Biloxi Parks and Recreation Department and the Movers and Shakers Social Club. For more information, call 228-388-7170.
