Olympian Cory McGee returns to Pass Christian High School

Over the weekend, local track star Cory McGee returned to her high school stomping grounds for the first time since her days at the Tokyo Olympics.

McGee and the City of Pass Christian came together at Pass Christian High to commemorate the track star’s achievements.

The city also partnered with Coastal Family Health Center and others to offer free COVID-19 vaccinations at the event as well.

Health center officials say that this event had the largest vaccination turnout than any other pop-up site they held thanks to McGee’s presence.

To McGee’s surprise, the city also honored her by proclaiming August 21st as Cory McGee Day in the City of Pass Christian. “I think that it’s really special that people were able to come here and we could talk about the Olympics and reflect on that but also to do something that is helping people in the future and is obviously important right now and just so relevant I think is obviously a little bit more important,” said McGee.

If you would like to schedule a COVID vaccination appointment with Coastal Family Health Center call 877-374-4991.
