Third annual Jr. Jubilee Fishing Rodeo kicks off in D’Iberville

D’IBERVILLE, Miss. (WXXV)- The Coastal Conservation Association partnered with the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources and the City of D’Iberville to launch the third annual Junior Jubilee Kids Fishing Rodeo.

The free summer-long tournament welcomed young anglers ages three to 15 with weigh stations set up across the marina.

The kickoff event in D’Iberville featured a ribbon cutting ceremony, giveaways for the first 100 participants, and activities designed to get more families out fishing.

Organizers say the rodeo was created to encourage children to learn about fishing, conservation, and the importance of protecting the Coast’s most natural resources.

Organizers said there is still plenty of time for young anglers to join the fun with the rodeo running through Labor Day.
