CTA announces bus reroutes for Octane Car Festival in downtown Gulfport
GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) — The Coast Transit Authority is alerting riders about street closures and route changes during the Octane Car Festival this weekend.
The event is set for Saturday, May 23, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with portions of downtown Gulfport between 25th Avenue and 22nd Avenue closed to traffic.
CTA says Routes 37 and 38 will be rerouted along U.S. 90 into the Gulfport Transit Center. Route 34 will also be adjusted, shifting to 22nd Avenue instead of 23rd Avenue when entering and exiting the transit center.
The free trolley loop will be shortened but will continue serving the east side of Jones Park.
Officials say drivers should expect heavy traffic and possible delays throughout the day. Parking will be available at the CTA garage near the Mississippi Aquarium.
