Boating Safety Week

You never think anything bad is going to happen out in the water but the U.S. Coast Guard wants you to be prepared for the worst before the start of the boating season.

Coast guard officials are reminding boaters to check that your flares are not expired.
Also make sure your fire extinguishers are in the green and operable.
Everyone on board needs to wear a life jacket.
Children 12 and under should always be in life jackets and wearing the correct size.
These are a few regulations Coast Guard officials enforce, but they insist it is better to be prepared now and not while an emergency is happening.
